Ran: 11.04 miles
Time: 1:39:25 (hh:mm:ss)
Pace: 9:01 minutes/mile
Temperature: 32°
Another crack at my lunchtime run today. I remembered my pull over spikes, they really helped. I would say that at least 5 of the 11 miles was iced over trails. It tool a lot of concentration and focus to run on the trails today. But overall it was kinda of cool because it was such a challenge! So far this month, I have run in 10° weather, 8+ inches of snow on hilly trails and extremely icy trails, I still say better than a treadmill!

Danada County Trails, Herrick Lake
Ran: 3.15 miles
Time: 26:24 (hh:mm:ss)
Pace: 8:23 minutes/mile
Temperature: 32°
My lunchtime run today was cut way short, ran 1 1/2 miles to the start of the limestone trail and had to head back because the trail was all ice and I forgot my pull over spikes in the locker. I was looking forward to the 11 mile run as my final run prior to the half marathon on Saturday. So it looks like I will try again tomorrow. Looking forward to a new PR in Dallas on Saturday, a relatively flat course around White Rock Lake.

Angelica, Shawn and myself at Swallow Cliffs, running in 9" of snow. What a workout! The hills were like running in place. I wore the pull over spikes, which don't help much with all the snow, but there were a few bare stretches with ice and they seemed to work well. Overall, a fun run in the snow.

Pace: 8:40 minutes/mile
Temperature: 11°
Lunchtime run in the cold, it 11° at the start and 9° at the end. The trails were very icy, of course I left my pull over spikes in my bag because I mistakenly thought that all of the snow from last week had melted, so it was a slick, hard, bumpy run. A new temp record for me, at least I was prepared clothing wise, I can honestly say that I was not cold.

Country Lane Yellow TrailRan: 11.00 miles
Time: 1:37:35(hh:mm:ss)
Pace: 8:52 minutes/mile
Temperature: 43°
Solo on the snow covered Yellow trail, once there is snow on the trails there is a role reversal for the limestone portion and the narrow wooded portions of the trail; with snow, the limestone portion is more difficult because of the slipping going up the hills and the narrow wooded portion of the trails are easier because of the packed snow(Thank you mountain bikers). I brought by pull over spikes with me but didn't need them because there was no ice on the trails and my trail running shoes were fine. Overall, it was a pretty tough run today.

Burbank Frosty 5K
Ran: 3.1 miles
Time: 24:14 (hh:mm:ss)
Pace: 7:48minutes/mile
Temperature: 14°
Angelica, Maria, Andy and I running the Burbank Frosty 5K. The conditions were cold, with snow flurries, and the streets were salty, icy and slushy. For me a new record PW(personal worst), I learned two important things, 1) don't run 5 miles the night before a race, and 2) Be sure to tie your running pants before a race. I decided to wear my waterproof/windproof running pants for the race, when I put them on in the warm house they were very snug so I didn't tie them, but after about a mile into the race in the cold temps they loosened up and I had to keep pulling them up, then after about two miles I had to hold them up while I was running until the end of the race : ( . It was a fun race, just wished that I was better prepared.
