Danada County Trails, Herrick Lake

Lunch time run on the trails, nice sunny day but very windy, the wind really impacted my pace. My Garmin died again. Now I have to determine if it just isn't charging or if the battery won't take a full charge. Overall a good month, 127.7 miles for a shortened month.

Danada County Trails, Herrick Lake

Lunch time run, my Garmin's battery died after 2.88 miles, ran the full 11.0mi, trails were very sloppy, some ice, very wet and mushy. I updated the run for the proper distance and picked a average time for this run. A tough run but good training for my next half marathon which is a trail half marathon in Innsbrook, MO this coming Saturday. This will be number 3 of 12 in my "RUN12HALF MARATHONS in 2012".

Lost Dutchman Half Marathon, Apache Junction, AZ

2 of 12 Half Marathons for 2012, brought me to Apache Junction, AZ. Nice out and back route with great views of Superstition Mountains. New PR, finished Overall Place 115 / 1114 and Division Place 8 / 70. A very tough run mentally, I was keeping an eye on my pace each mile, but misread mile 7 thinking it was 8:40 and just decided to not look anymore and it felt like I struggled the rest of the way, but as it turned out mile 8 was one of my fastest and I finished with a time that shocked me. So it turned out to be a great run and a fun weekend taking in the sights in Arizona!

Turtlehead Lake, Palos Heights
Ran:    4.84 miles

Andy with a bad knee and me still feeling under the weather at Turtlehead Lake(10.5 mile loop), we both agreed that neither one of us were going to be able to run the full loop, so we decided to just run 3mi and back. Well, we ran the first 2 miles and then alternated between walking and running until we got back to the parking lot. My usual assessment is that it just about putting the miles in, but to be honest I feel that walking is like giving up...
